Texarkana Earns 'Film Friendly Texas' Designation, which recognizes our city's readiness to support film and media production. In other words, we're ready for our close-up, Mr. Deville.
Governor Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that Texarkana has been designated as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Film Commission. The recognition comes after the city completed a multi-step training and certification program that prepares local communities to host film and media productions.
The designation puts Texarkana on the map for location scouts and producers looking for unique backdrops across the state, while also promoting local job creation and economic growth through the media industry.
“Texarkana is ready to welcome film and media projects, and we look forward to the opportunities this will bring — from creative storytelling to meaningful economic growth,” said Mayor Bob Bruggeman.
