Submitting for Auditions.
There are many great places to find casting notices online. For the new actor with no agent you will be submitting for roles yourself.
Submitting for Auditions
Keep your resume and headshot handy electronically so you can quickly attach this to your e-mails when submitting for a role.
Your message should be quick and to the point which should include your first and last name, contact number and a brief introduction about what role you are submitting for and your availability.
After you send the e-mail forget all about it and move on to the next submission. You may be invited to audition or you many never hear from them again.
If you are invited for an audition take all the information you have been given regarding time, date and location and stick that into a calendar with a million reminders.
Now is the time to ask questions about anything you might want to know about the company, the production or the audition itself.
Don’t forget to ask if they want a monologue or if they will be providing sides.
